Recently, Onto Innovation COO Cody Harlow joined U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar and other executives representing the semiconductor industry in Minnesota for a press conference to celebrate the newly enacted CHIPS and Science Act. “The CHIPS and Science Act makes landmark investments to increase domestic semiconductor production by providing funding for companies to build, expand and modernize state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities,” said Klobuchar. Here at Onto, we have plans to capitalize on the incentives offered by the CHIPS Act and will be submitting R&D proposals to improve metrology, inspection and advanced packaging capabilities. From workforce development to expanding our Bloomington facility and creating an advanced packaging center, we have great hope that the passage of this act will bring tremendous growth, not only for Onto but the industry as a whole. Earlier this month, Onto Innovation CEO Michael Plisinski accepted the award at SEMICON® West in San Francisco.
