We’re excited to share some Rise updates: We proudly supported 2,472 individuals in 2023, providing customized services that empower people to achieve their personal and professional goals. From employment to life enrichment programs, Rise has continued to broaden its impact across the Twin Cities Metro and beyond. 323 individuals earned new competitive jobs in the community last year, earning an average wage of $15.72/hour. Our commitment to fair and equitable wages was further demonstrated as we met our 2024 goal of ending special minimum wage programs. Rise also invested in group community employment, developing both new and existing partnerships with employers like nVent, Cummins, and HOM Furniture to offer competitive wage positions to individuals with disabilities in integrated community settings. Our life enrichment programs also saw growth and change. We consolidated and renovated our spaces, including major updates in Anoka, Forest Lake, and Cottage Grove, thanks to support from Community Development Block Grants. We also launched an exciting intergenerational project in partnership with the YMCA of the North, supported by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation, to bring people with disabilities and seniors together to combat loneliness. Finally, we celebrated a year of advocacy wins in 2023, including legislative investments in disability services and transportation improvements, ensuring a brighter future for the people we serve!
We’re excited to share some updates about Rise’s progress over the last year! In 2022, Rise supported 2,611 people across 48 programs that assist people in overcoming obstacles to achieving their goals through employment, life enrichment, and housing/community living services. According to the results of our annual satisfaction survey, 96.51% of our person served respondents, 93.68% of other stakeholder respondents, and 100% of business partner respondents indicated that they were satisfied with Rise’s services. Of course, we can’t do this work without our incredible team members! 2022 was a year of regrowth, and we’re now one hundred staff members closer to our pre-pandemic headcount, which means more people came off the waitlist for services in 2022. Rise also increased wages for Direct Support Professionals by 25% last year to make sure compensation matches expertise and the cost of living. This progress continues in 2023, as we work towards our goals to… - End special minimum wage/center-based work by April 1, 2024 - Continue rebuilding our staff numbers, allowing more people from the waitlist to start services - Expand core programs to reach new service areas and populations - Renovate program sites to ensure accessibility, increase dignity, and align our program spaces with life enrichment and employment exploration activities To learn more about Rise, please visit our website at http://rise.org/about-rise/
Updated December 18, 2020 We are happy to share that Rise’s center-based programs have been gradually reopening for several months now. We can accommodate a variety of schedules, preferences, and support needs, so please speak with your Rise team member to determine a plan that works for you. For people who may not be returning to in-person programming or are returning only part-time, remote services are a great option to continue to work on goals and interact with friends. If you are interested in remote services, please speak with your Rise team member. Each person who returns receives training on social distancing, cleaning, and hygiene practices. We would encourage you to review our health and safety plans listed above and direct any questions you have to your Rise team members. We also continue to contact persons served and families about their plans for services. More here - https://rise.org/covid-19/
