On Saturday, November 20, Satcom Direct staff participated in the annual Space Coast Lightfest 5K Run/Walk held at Wickham Park in Melbourne. The race consisted of a 5K course through the 391-acre park where participants got to be among the first to run among the holiday lights. Robert Vega, Senior Director of Product Management, won an Apple Watch with the fastest run time of SD employees in attendance. We look forward to participating again next year!

Satcom Direct, has inked a preferred supplier agreement with Slovenia-headquartered aviation services company Elit'Avia. Voice, data, connectivity, and flight deck communication functionality, along with customer support and training, is now enabling Elit’Avia to optimize the full range of SD connectivity services for its mixed fleet. Over the last five years there has been an increasing demand from industry professionals for Satcom Direct’s aeroIT certification. Here Jason Rigby, SD's Director of Training, discusses the advantages of the program as it celebrates its 1000th delegate. The aeroIT certification is an information technology certification for the configuration and troubleshooting of networks and satcom systems onboard an aircraft. These courses are offered monthly at Satcom Direct and are available through partnerships with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and FlightSafety International. The aeroIT training course is approved for eight Federal Aviation Administration Inspection Authorization (IA) credits. For more information visit SatcomDirect.com.
Satcom Direct, has completed the integration of the Polaris Aero FlightRisk®, advanced risk analysis system, into the PreFlight module of the SD Pro® digital flight operations platform. Mutual customers of SD and Polaris Aero now have immediate access to the full scope of the multiple-data-source risk assessment and mitigation advisories generated by FlightRisk, directly from the SD scheduling, PreFlight module.
