They were joined by Dave Terhune, one of Dr. Bock's first patients to receive this procedure in January 2024.
VHC Health's Dr. Jay Salameh spoke with WJLA's Victoria Sanchez about his most recent mission trip to Honduras with the VHC Medical Brigade. On this weeklong trip, Dr. Salameh performed 31 essential surgeries, mainly hernia and gall bladder removals. Hondurans from across the country travel to Comayagua to receive the medical care the VHC Medical Brigade team provides.

VHC Health Unveils Charlotte Stump Benjamin Center for Women’s Health at Outpatient Pavilion
VHC Health team members participated in a friendly competition to see which unit could collect the most canned goods for its "Yes We Can" food drive. The goal was ambitious, 6,000 cans in 6 weeks, but the VHC Health team met the challenge head on and donated 6,200 cans to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Victoria Sanchez with ABC7 spoke to VHC's Laura Spaner on the success of the fundraiser.
The annual VHC Health Sock Hop sock collection benefiting Doorways, a non-profit that creates pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence and sexual assault for our Arlington community, collected more than 13,000 pairs of socks donated by our generous staff. When fleeing dangerous situations, packing up socks is not a top priority, and half of Doorways' clients are children.
VHC Health and Arlington County Announce Plans for New Rehabilitation and Behavioral Wellness Facility
Virginia Hospital Center (VHC), a community-based hospital providing medical services to the Washington, DC metropolitan area for 75 years, has been ranked third in the Washington, DC metro area and eighth in Virginia in the 2020-2021 US News & World Report Best Hospitals guide, which evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers in 16 medical specialties, 9 adult procedures or conditions and 10 pediatric specialties. This ranking in the 2020-2021 guide represents a steady rise in position in the metro area for VHC over the past few years.
Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) was the only Northern Virginia hospital named to Newsweek's 2020 list of Best Maternity Care Hospitals. The distinction recognizes facilities that have excelled in providing care to mothers, newborns and their families, as verified by the 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Survey. Best Maternity Care Hospitals is part of Newsweek's Best Health Care series, powered by data from The Leapfrog Group. Virginia Hospital Center was one of fewer than 250 hospitals to receive the prestigious accolade.
