Last month, VPP visited one of our community partners, @Hand2Paw, to donate $500 of cat food to their organization 🐾💖 We're so proud to support Hand2Paw and their efforts to preserve the human-animal bond in our home city of Philadelphia! Hand2Paw supports young adults to develop socio-emotional and career readiness skills as they take an active role in building a compassionate community in their neighborhood. We had a terrific time connecting with Cornell students this week, first at the VBMA meeting and then at a workshop with Dr. Jorge Colon's students in the Cornell Center for Veterinary Business and Entrepreneurship 🐶😺 We engaged in a thorough and thoughtful discussion on veterinary ethics, practice culture and communication around medical errors. As a co-owner of Parker Center Animal Clinic (PCAC) with his wife for more than 18 years, Dr. Motichka joined VPP in 2022 and is a proud member of VPP’s Medical Advisory Board. When asked about the most rewarding aspect of his partnership with VPP, Dr. Motichka said: “My favorite part of the partnership with VPP was that we were able to bring our Practice Manager on as a partner in the business. Our Practice Manager is amazing – I’m not sure I can put into words how important she is to the hospital and how much I rely on her. In addition, three of our senior associate veterinarians have also been elevated to partners. Since I won’t be running PCAC forever, it is exciting and truly rewarding to see four of our leaders within the hospital benefitting directly from the hard work and dedication they put in.
