Welcome to our weekly newsletter focused on providing you with the latest news and insights on risk, AML, regulatory technology, and financial crime compliance. In this week’s edition we have a piece on BloombergGPT, a language model with 50 billion parameters introduced by Bloomberg which has adopted a hybrid approach rather than creating a tiny or general-purpose LLM solely based on domain-specific data. We also discuss about the connection with hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 during the campaign of former President Donald Trump who has been charged with 34 felonies for falsifying company documents. Moreover, Hummingbird has introduced modular compliance apps for investigations to streamline regulatory compliance processes. The next article speaks about the CardX’s launch of ‘Mastercard Click to Pay’ on its platform which gives customers a frictionless checkout experience. In addition, the UK has introduced an Economic Crime Levy to combat money laundering to which Moody’s has warned that criminals may still carry out illegal activities.
ZIGRAM wishes the miracle of Easter bring you renewed faith, hope, and love. Happy Easter to you and your family!

Smart #contracts are simple programs stored on a #blockchain that run when predetermined conditions are met. They typically are used to automate the execution of an #agreement so that all participants can be immediately certain of the outcome, without any intermediary’s involvement. #Smartcontracts can define rules, like a regular contract, and automatically enforce them via the #code. According to the market research company Valuates Report, the global smart contracts market size is projected to reach USD 1460.3 million by 2028, from USD 315.1 million in 2021, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.2% during 2022-2028. In this week’s Know Your Data {KYD}, we present you with a brief overview of the smart contract. #ethereum #crypto #web3.0 #solana #datamanagement #daas #bigdata #risk #datacollection #knowyourdata #KYD #datadefinition #visualblog #dataasset #ZIGRAM
According to the most recent #global #trade Update, released by #UNCTAD on 13 December 2022, global trade should reach a record USD 32 trillion for 2022, but a slowdown that started in the second part of the year is projected to deepen in 2023 as #geopolitical tensions and tight financial conditions persist. Trade in both commodities and services has witnessed significant increase this year despite the conflict in #ukraine and the pandemic's continuing effects. Due in part to higher energy prices, trade in products increased 10% over the previous year to an estimated USD 25 trillion. Services reached a record USD 7 trillion, up 15%. However, the UNCTAD research issues a warning that the slowdown in the second half of this year portends more difficult circumstances in 2023. Two other factors that could affect trade patterns in 2023 are the evolution of global #supply chains and the transition towards a greener world #economy. On a quarterly basis, #commerce decreased in all geographic areas with the exception of East Asia, which displayed notable resilience.
The holidays are here… and with it come the arrival of feasts, joyous dinners, and amazing parties! But there are those who spend these days without the warmth, nourishment, and resources that many of us take for granted. At ZIGRAM, we endeavor, in our own small way, to make a positive impact on the lesser privileged – so that we may share our good fortune with others. This year, some of our team members, volunteered to be a part of the Christmas Food Drive to spread a sprinkling of joy! Special thanks to Deeparchi Sharma, Nitin Garg, Gurdain Bhalla, Sudha Chotiyal, Tapendra Joshi and Manibhushan kumar for being a part of this wonderful initiative. Happy Holidays everyone!
What better way to usher in the holidays and the New Year, than to get our team together for one last Hurrah of 2022?! Recently, the ZIGRAM Engineering, Products, Data Science and Research teams came together from dozens of cities and states, across India, to meet in person for ‘The ZIGRAM Technology Meetup’. Over 3 wonderful days we worked, ideated, and partied our way into the late evenings. Yes, we continue to work remotely… but are connected like a family. This 500 strong family wishes everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and an amazing New Year. May the new year bring peace, happiness, and harmony for all!
