Leadership isn’t just about strategy or execution - it’s also about empathy, service, and the ripple effects of our actions. Recently, our team partnered with Odyssey Teams to participate in the Helping Hands project, assembling prosthetic hands for individuals around the world - many of whom would otherwise go a lifetime without access to this kind of support. It was a powerful and humbling experience that brought our values to life through action. As we carry this experience forward, we’re more committed than ever to leading with heart - and to helping others do the same. At ghSMART, we believe we are Better Together.

Over the past few months, the ghSMART team has been privileged to work with engaging, curious, and gifted Jenniviv Bansah. We asked Jenniviv to share what she learned from her experience as a ghSMART Leadership Fellow: “As my final week as a fellow, I find myself reflecting on this incredible journey. When I began 12 short weeks ago, I bought a 60-sheet A5 Notebook and finish with only five blank pages, not because I write in 3XL, but because every single moment was filled with the ink of the team’s wisdom, in the margins their guidance, and the in footnotes their camaraderie. I’ve learned the value of agility, power of collaboration, and the art of continuous learning. During my time here, I've had the privilege to observe assessments, collaborate with the Talent Acquisition and Professional Development teams, delve into CEO succession research, and be mentored by Geoff Smart, focusing on frontline management and the individual contributor to first-time manager pipeline, and much more. In just 12 weeks, I've witnessed the firm welcome valued new colleagues and execute new contracts. We've celebrated countless birthdays and work anniversaries. As I reflect on these incredible achievements, I can't help but be excited about the remarkable adventures that undoubtedly lie ahead for the firm in the next 12 weeks and beyond!” Thank you Jenniviv! We see great things in your future and will continue to be your champions as you continue onward in your professional journey.
Congratulations senior leadership advisor Catherine Dixon on 10 years at ghSMART! We asked Catherine why she’s stayed at ghSMART longer than any previous role: “What I love about my job is that every day I’m having conversations with talented leaders to help them be better versions of themselves, think about new ideas, and have the courage to go in different directions. Much of my work centers around CEOs and CFOs, and they listen because they value what we bring to the table and know that our ideas make them better. I get to be a part of helping people and organizations grow, and that ability to work at the top of the house to drive impact is something that’s really powerful. One CEO told me that he was a better leader and person because of our work, and it’s that kind of impact that motivates me. I never knew how much I would value our freedom and flexibility. When I interviewed at ghSMART, I was honestly hesitant about remote work. Now, I love it: I work hard, but it’s on my terms..." Head over to LinkedIn to read the rest of what Catherine shared!
We are happy to announce that Samantha Ellner Levy has joined the team at ghSMART! Sam was born and raised in the New York area, studied Economics and Cognitive Science at Yale, and then went to Harvard Business School to pursue her MBA. Sam has been back in NYC since finishing school, working in investment banking, consulting, and most recently in consumer goods where she was able to combine her analytical skills with her passion for helping people to reach their full potential, which eventually led her to ghSMART! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐠𝐡𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓? “I found as I moved into a more operational role, where my key priority was building and developing a team, that I really enjoyed the people aspect of what I was doing. I got a lot of satisfaction from helping to grow and develop individuals, from building those one-on-one relationships, to seeing people on my team grow and thrive and move into different roles, or just continuing to expand their own capabilities and build up their own leadership skills. That was something that I loved. I also missed the client services aspect and the variety of project types that I had seen in consulting. When I spoke to some mentors, ghSMART came up as a place that checked all of those boxes.” Head over to LinkedIn to read the rest of what Sam had to share! https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7110640512746868736

As we honor Hispanic Heritage Month, we recognize the enormous strides that have been made towards diversity, equity, and inclusion for our Hispanic friends, family members, colleagues, and community members. We also recognize that much work remains to be done. Our Spotlight on Inclusion this month features Alejandro Perez, a Principal at ghSMART. Here’s what Ale shared with us. “I grew up in Costa Rica, and never thought that I would be an immigrant. It was after having the opportunity to live in the US as an adult that I grappled with what that nascent part of my identity meant to me. What has been particularly eye-opening is the feeling of being perceived as different or ‘other’. Thankfully, people are largely excited when I tell them where I am from, and the times where this has not been the case are few and far between. However, in the past, I felt the need to communicate in a specific way, almost like I had to put on a persona of what someone in professional services looks like. Serious, very much to the point, never going off topic, and never showing vulnerability. But doing that just made me tired and unhappy. Today, I bring my authentic self to work, and aspire to create an environment where people can be themselves with me too..." Head over to LinkedIn to read the rest of what Ale had to share!
Congratulations to ghSMART Partner Sapna Sadarangani Werner who celebrates 10 years at the firm this month. Sapna shares why she feels ‘so fortunate’ to have spent the past decade at the firm: “I feel so fortunate to have spent the past decade of my career at ghSMART. It is a privilege to work on such a personal level with extraordinary leaders of extraordinary firms and advise them on their highest stakes leadership priorities -- from navigating CEO succession, to building the right teams and organizations to support their strategies, to accelerating their own development and others’. Each day brings a fresh challenge, and I feel deeply invested in my clients and the outcomes. I am lucky to get to work not only with some of the most talented C-suite executives, boards, and investors in the world, but also with a brilliant and diverse group of colleagues I consider friends. Last but not least, I love building a business with such unparalleled freedom and flexibility, one of our core tenets as a firm..."
