At tesa, we believe in developing our people and community. In an effort to invest in our community, we have developed an apprenticeship program for students to kickstart their careers at our Sparta, MI plant. This 8-week rotational program alternates between classes at Baker College in Cadillac and hands-on practice at tesa, allowing apprentices to seamlessly integrate academic learning with practical experience. During their time with us, apprentices gain a comprehensive understanding of our various functions and of course our manufacturing machines. For example, they will spend time in our Quality Test Lab, where they gain hands-on experience testing materials to ensure they meet the required specifications for further production. Then, they join our Maintenance Department to learn about support functions, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with troubleshooting. Our program is designed to turn participants into skilled machine operators ready to support Industry 4.0 technologies. Each apprentice earns wages that correspond to their newly acquired skills as they progress through the 2.5-year apprenticeship program. tesa covers tuition, fees and provides a weekly housing stipend, allowing students to focus on learning without the burden of student debt. Please keep us in mind and apply when applications open again in May 2025. Contact us at hr@tesatape.com to learn more about how someone you know can join our apprenticeship program.

We are excited to kick off our third tesa Global Sustainability Week taking place both at our headquarter and in our regions! Our CEO, Dr. Norman Goldberg and Dr. Ingrid Sebald, Board Member Technology, opened the week by emphasizing that sustainability is a priority for tesa and at the core of our technological initiatives. They pointed out the importance of increasing sustainability along the entire value chain. Under the umbrella of "Sustainability along the value chain", we have put together a diverse program of four action-packed days of updates, seminars, keynotes, panel discussions and regional insights. Engaging guest lectures from sustainability experts from industry and commerce will provide insights into their companies and their sustainability practices. Colleagues from around the world will have the unique opportunity to learn from the experiences and best practices of other companies and gain valuable insights while having the unique opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss sustainability initiatives together. Let’s unite for a more sustainable future!

At tesa, our dedication to sustainability and our commitment to our employees' safety go hand in hand. We are proud to announce that our tesa Site Sparta is setting a new milestone by completely transitioning to solvent-free production. Starting in 2024, this initiative eliminates the need for the annual transport of approximately 52 truckloads of solvents, totaling around 1,100 tons, to Sparta. This significant step not only underscores our dedication to more sustainable adhesive tape production processes but also signifies a safer, healthier, and cleaner workplace for all our employees. By reducing hazardous material transport and eliminating solvent use in production, we enhance both the well-being of our employees and the sustainability of our operations.
