2X Global Townhall: We’re Profitable… Just Not for You

      Pros

      Supportive teammates Hybrid Work arrangement

      Cons

The Global Townhall was framed as something “for us,” but in reality, it was just another show. It opened with a staged, scripted video of employees saying how great the company is — something no one actually believes. Then came awkward, meaningless shoutouts that felt like filler rather than genuine recognition. What followed was worse: a lineup of shiny new senior management hires from overseas paraded in front of us, while the people who keep the company running are told our yearly increment will never exceed 5%, our medical coverage is being cut back, and our benefits are shrinking — all without honest communication. Then the CEO, with a straight face, said: “How are we able to hire these people? Oh! You'd be surprised that we’re a profitable company!”, all while reducing our benefits. That single statement showed us everything we needed to know. Profit comes first. Leadership hires and acquisitions come second. Employees come last. It was insulting. It was hypocritical. And it was painful to realize that we are seen as disposable. Pawns, not people. This wasn’t a Townhall. It was a performance. A joke at our expense.

      Pros

      - Nice colleagues and seniors - Good benefits, the flexible working hours is amazing

      Cons

      - Parking is expensive - Workload can be overwhelming and too client compliant. Need to set some boundaries if you dont want to get overworked - too many company culture activities - no bonus, no promise of increment

      Pros

Initially feels super chill, a lot of progressive policies, great pay and benefits, great mentoring from senior staffs

      Cons

A lot of empty promises and management cannot be trusted. A lot of those policies are there because they need to be there

They value work and life balance and discourage you from working overtime and during your leaves or weekends. Time management is key! Good benefits and also love the culture here!

      Cons

      Salary can be more competitive.

      Pros

Flexible working arrangements , decent medical benefits (though they seem to be on a steady diet of “cost optimisation”), and genuinely great colleagues who make the whole experience far more bearable than it should be.

      Cons

Where do I even begin? “Hybrid Flexibility” doesn’t quite extend to your evenings, where 3–4 nights a week are often reserved for client calls. Turns out being client-facing is just a nicer way of saying your personal time is now a shared resource. Moving on to bonuses...or the lack thereof. In 2025, multiple emails were sent by leadership outlining exactly how to qualify. Many of us followed those instructions diligently… only to be rewarded with absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, a select few mysteriously received bonuses and were politely asked to “be discreet.” Adorable. Unfortunately, offices are not known for their ability to keep secrets, so yes, we all know. Salary increments are another exciting game of chance. 1%? 3%? 10%? Spin the wheel and find out. Negotiation isn’t part of the experience, regardless of performance. In fact, decisions appear to be made well before your performance review, which is ironic, considering those reviews are often delayed for months… or conveniently forgotten altogether in certain departments. Company's direction has also taken an interesting turn, with a rather “top-down, no-questions-please” approach from the US. There was even a memorable moment when someone of high position allegedly expressed regret about hiring an entire core team. While this was later denied, it’s hard to unsee something once it’s already made the rounds. Extreme ownership, who? And finally, my personal favourite: the attempt to discourage employees from sharing feedback on Glassdoor. We were advised to raise concerns internally instead. A fair suggestion in theory , except when there are already 370+ reviews publicly highlighting the same issues, many of which have been acknowledged… and yet remain unchanged. So naturally, the solution is to make feedback less visible. Brilliant strategy.

Good compensation, but instability and lack of transparency

      Pros

Compensation and benefits are higher compared to other outsourcing companies.

      Cons

      - Lack of transparency from higher management. - Very unstable - Too much restructuring - Manila people are at disadvantage. While we do all of the BS at night shift, we don't even enjoy any PH holidays. - Manila culture is long dead.

my first 2 year were very positive, with a strong team of competent and driven colleagues.

      Cons

in recent years, however, there has been a noticeable decline in capability among new hires at similar seniority. basic skills in tools like excel and powerpoint are often lacking, leading to frequent reliance on step-by-step guidance for relatively simple tasks. at the same time, it has become difficult to provide direct feedback without it being perceived negatively. there are also instances where concerns are raised indirectly rather than addressed openly, which affects transparency and trust within the team. in some cases, attempts to guide or correct are escalated as issues of tone, rather than focusing on the underlying performance gaps. this dynamic affects overall team efficiency and can be discouraging, especially when there appears to be a mismatch between capability, expectations, and compensation. it also raises the question of why experienced and high-performing talent choose to leave when they are expected to take on additional burdens without corresponding recognition. there also appears to be a gap in management support and employee care, particularly in how benefits and policies are reviewed and adjusted. for example, medical benefits were reduced based on low utilisation, which may not fully reflect employees’ actual needs. in addition, there has been little to no meaningful review or increase in benefits over the years, despite rising living costs and inflation. this creates a perception that employee wellbeing and market competitiveness are not being prioritised in decision-making. overall, this contributes to lower morale and reduced trust in management, especially when experienced employees feel additional workload and responsibility are not matched with adequate support or recognition.

      Pros

      1) There are a LOT of support and benefits available 2) All of the teams that I've been on so far have been pretty good. Everyone is willing to work together without any drama or issues 3) They offer hybrid working - 2 days/week in office, the rest at home

      Cons

      1) A LOT of work. Most of it is very repetitive, so if you can't handle writing emails or blogs over and over again you won't make it here 2) Silo'd effect - it's very easy to end up becoming isolated because everyone is so focused on their own work 3) While the hybrid option is nice, management has made it clear that they want to get more people into office. You can only get a reserved table/seat if you agree to come in more often. Otherwise, it's all first come first served and there are days when there just aren't any seats available on the entire floor, so you have to work in the pantry

      Pros

Very friendly colleagues. Flexible work arrangements (as long as you get work done before deadlines and you reply to messages in a timely manner). Office provides laptop (although if you get a lousy model, they'll make it hard for you to switch for a better one). Strategic location near the MRT line. Benefits are still better than most companies, though they're not spectacular. If I were to describe it as if we were all cows in a field, the grass is chartreuse, it's not yellow/brown but it's definitely not green.

      Cons

A lot. Company gaslighted us that no one gets bonuses but apparently people in managerial roles secretly got them for the past few years. They also cut a lot of our benefits this year, despite boasting that they are getting record-breaking profits. Instead of giving their employees the raises they deserve, they elected to spend that money on a billboard at Times Square. Instead of improving our healthcare benefits, they promised during a town hall to add protein snacks to our pantry (which they haven't even done. I don't even care about protein but at least fulfill your promises). Instead of giving their employees the support they need to deliver good work to clients, they bought over Straightarrow and gave us juniors that don't even know how to proactively ask questions or do tasks without having to hold their hand step by step. Allegedly we are also AI guinea pigs for one of the higher ups' AI bots that they invested in. Which is great, you know, since AI is taking away marketing jobs lol. Allegedly, they also froze hiring in the KL office (but in a recent townhall they encouraged us to refer our friends???) since they're hyper-growing in Manila (but could they at least vet the skills of the people they hire there? I guess it's hard when you have a KPI of 50 hires a day (allegedly)) If you're not looking to grow in your career, I guess this is a good place to prepare your casket (Some of the people who have been here since before pandemic are already doing so and not giving af about their work anyways).

      Pros

      - Nice colleagues and the team really support each other - Rapid learning curve and growth - Training, workshop and sharing sessions provided - Good for fresh grad but not so much for experienced hire

      Cons

In an environment where you are buried with overload work, you will have a trustable colleagues to lean on for ranting. The job demand is so high that you are a Nemo swimming in a large ocean without clear direction. But some of the Seniors are there to help when you need guidance. The company does not provides any bonus, normal benefit and the salary range is bare minimum. A lot of AD, MPM and some CSD are smooth talker. Good a babysitting the client and ended up overpromising. But if you are lucky, you will meet the few good leaders. Career progression is vague. The job description for each level (junior, senior and management) does not have a clear distinction. Good thing about promotion is you get good % increment (but the amount is it really? hahaha) and of course crushing workload! Congratulations you have levelled up to be among people pleaser. Some of the managers are all talk, immature and don't know why are they even promoted.
