We take feedback like this seriously, even when it reflects a very challenging perspective. Our acquisitions and partnerships are strategic decisions aimed at building long‑term capabilities and delivering consistent value to our clients, while maintaining high standards across the organization. We value our team members across all regions and roles, and are committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful working environment. Our quarterly All Hands sessions are voluntary gatherings intended to share updates, recognize contributions, and stay connected, with recordings available for those unable to attend. While this experience is not what we strive for, we continue investing in leadership development, employee well‑being, and open communication to strengthen the overall employee experience.

Decline in Culture, Transparency, and Growth After Acquisition

      Pros

      • Competitive basic salary and benefits, especially for professionals with less than two years of experience • Company-provided laptop and equipment (Dell) • Prior to the acquisition, the culture encouraged healthy communication and client-focused performance

      Cons

I joined StraightArrow Corporation prior to its full acquisition by 2X. During the earlier period, company culture was one of its strongest assets — communication was open, client feedback was valued, and growth opportunities felt transparent. After the acquisition was finalized, I personally experienced significant changes in culture and structure. There appeared to be large-scale hiring followed by periods where employees were underutilized, which eventually led to layoffs. From my perspective, workforce planning and client acquisition efforts did not seem aligned, creating instability within teams. I also observed increasing tension between regional teams, particularly between Kuala Lumpur and Manila, which affected collaboration and morale. Concerns around favoritism in promotions and performance evaluations became common discussions among employees. Some high-performing team members were categorized as low performers without what felt like clear or consistent justification, impacting trust in leadership decisions. Career progression felt less transparent compared to the earlier structure. Merit increases and promotions appeared inconsistent, and communication around advancement criteria was limited. Cost-cutting measures were noticeable in employee-facing initiatives. While some company events were still organized, they felt scaled down compared to previous years. Benefits and perks that were once offered to employees outside Luzon were no longer available. Work-life balance was also a challenge. Overtime work was common, particularly when managing client expectations, and clearer boundaries might have helped reduce burnout. Overall, the environment shifted from one that felt collaborative and growth-oriented to one that felt uncertain and high-pressure. For me personally, the stress outweighed the compensation. Footnote: This was rewritten since my previous attempts were being removed.

      Pros

      - Nice colleagues and the team really support each other - Rapid learning curve and growth - Training, workshop and sharing sessions provided - Good for fresh grad but not so much for experienced hire

      Cons

In an environment where you are buried with overload work, you will have a trustable colleagues to lean on for ranting. The job demand is so high that you are a Nemo swimming in a large ocean without clear direction. But some of the Seniors are there to help when you need guidance. The company does not provides any bonus, normal benefit and the salary range is bare minimum. A lot of AD, MPM and some CSD are smooth talker. Good a babysitting the client and ended up overpromising. But if you are lucky, you will meet the few good leaders. Career progression is vague. The job description for each level (junior, senior and management) does not have a clear distinction. Good thing about promotion is you get good % increment (but the amount is it really? hahaha) and of course crushing workload! Congratulations you have levelled up to be among people pleaser. Some of the managers are all talk, immature and don't know why are they even promoted.

      Cons

This company really lacks proper training for different departments. The biggest problem is that Sales and governance often promote the team as highly experienced and certified, but the reality is far from it. That’s a major red flag because the team is left powerless, scrambling to perform with no proper support. I’ve seen new hires get thrown into projects almost immediately, which just adds to the chaos. With the current economic situation in the States, there’s a constant churn of clients. Employees are regularly forced to leave churned projects and jump straight into new ones with little to no preparation. This creates serious issues for certain departments, where we have to pick up new tools for each project without proper guidance. By the time we start getting the hang of things, the project is churned. It makes me wonder, “What’s the point of working so hard when nothing substantial gets done?” Team dynamics is another big issue. If you’re lucky, you’ll have governance that actually manages the team, but with so many employees and projects, you could find yourself in all kinds of team situations. The lack of standardized processes and SOPs, even when it’s clear they’re needed, is really concerning. There’s also a low barrier to entry. I’ve seen new hires come in who are underqualified for the role, and this just puts more pressure on experienced colleagues to carry the workload. When these concerns are brought up, they’re usually brushed aside, which is unfair to everyone involved. Management could be dismissive as well. Everyone is well aware of the salary discrepancy between new joiners and existing staff. We were told to wait. Some existing experienced staff can be severely underpaid. There's a reason why so many talented employees are leaving.
