Pros
The store manager and operations manager are two of the sweetest people that I have met.
Cons
First and foremost, the company made the decision to reduce pay for all employees except those working from home, exemplifying the widening gap of our capitalist society, where the wealthy benefit at the expense of the working class. Moreover, encountering disrespectful behavior from guest leads further highlights the lack of class and leadership experience within the organization. Their demeaning language and lack of professionalism may even be a deliberate strategy to maintain favoritism towards store leaders, allowing guest leads to mistreat employees with impunity.
Adding insult to injury, the company not only slashed wages but also stopped providing water for its employees. The cost of a water cooler is negligible compared to the value it brings to staff well-being, yet management seems more concerned with squeezing out productivity than basic employee needs. Their claim of charitable donations every Monday only serves to highlight the hypocrisy of their actions – charity begins at home, and neglecting the basic needs of their own staff contradicts any altruistic facade they may attempt to project.
In light of these egregious practices, I made the decision to leave. This workplace lacks any semblance of values alignment and fails to uphold basic standards of decency. It's a stark reminder that not every organization operates with integrity, and my departure was a necessary step towards preserving my own dignity and principles.
