It can be extremely difficult to move into a sales role as a clinical, especially on the ultrasound side. Almost all companies have a path from clinical to sales, except for BWI/ j an j MedTech. Promotion pathways and role leveling has changed 4 times in the 6 years I’ve been here and not once has it had any positive effect. Extremely difficult to understand commission pay structures that always seem to eat away at what you should be taking home. What was once the best pension ever has been removed in favor of a lump sum payout. Pay is less than other similar companies and you are made to feel you can’t leave because of pension and benefits.

Very narrow idea of who ‘deserves’ promotion. False promises of respecting different viewpoints, company is out of touch with customer needs. Just blew years of market dominance and still doesn’t seem to get it or have a good plan. As always, if they fail, it’s the field’s fault for not selling hard enough. It’s the field that suffers and they hand out crumbs and tell you you’re lucky to work for them. Aren’t willing to pay for best talent. Pay under market rate, take advantage of college grads. Hey, BWI, 6 figs is the new bare minimum. People aren’t lucky to work for you for damn $120k.

BWI redid the leveling system to make it harder to work up to better pay. Recognition from superiors is rare even when performance reviews are extensively filled out. In my current position, manager is always MIA and upper management has allowed behavior to go on for years (multiples reports with no retribution). Petty behavior/gossiping between co-workers is common. The people who complain the most are the ones who get promoted up.
