What is the hiring process like at Brillio?

My experience with Brillio’s recruitment process has been nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional. The recruitment team is highly inactive and unresponsive, often taking 1-2 weeks to clear a single round. This causes unnecessary delays and leaves candidates in a state of limbo. After finally clearing two rounds, I was subjected to a so-called "client interview" that turned out to be a repeated version of the same round I had already cleared. Adding to the frustration, the interviewers often lack technical expertise and instead evaluate candidates on vague and irrelevant criteria, sometimes based on subjective or non-technical judgments. In my case, I was evaluated based on arbitrary questions unrelated to my skills or the job role, such as irrelevant behavioral queries. After wasting weeks of my time, I was given the excuse of "knowledge gaps" when the real issue turned out to be a lack of budget for the position. This level of dishonesty and mismanagement is unacceptable for a company of Brillio’s stature. Special mention to the HR whose lack of clarity and disorganized communication made the entire process even more frustrating. Multiple fake rounds and misleading communication are not what candidates deserve after dedicating their time and effort. I strongly discourage potential candidates from engaging with Brillio’s recruitment process. Their mismanagement, unprofessional approach, and lack of respect for candidates’ time make it a deeply disappointing experience.

I had really easy and simple onboarding process at Brillio. Brillio is focused on their customers and at the same time on its employees. They arranged 1 month external training to upskill employees. Reallly good experience working for Brillio

For the Recruiter: Gayathri was fantastic throughout the hiring process - professional, communicative, and genuinely supportive. She made sure I was well informed and helped me feel confident in my decision to join the company. For Brillio: In Brillio, the onboarding was smooth and well organized. I've felt welcomed by my team from day one. The company's culture is collaborative and inclusive.

Misaligned Role Expectations Despite Valuable Experience

      Principal product manager

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Working at Brillio offered the opportunity to get hands-on experience applying AI in a specific domain. During my time there, I appreciated being able to contribute deep subject matter expertise to meaningful client initiatives. I worked on two accounts. The main account was a young team that tackled a complex project and the 2nd project team consisted of impressive collaborative professionals from day 1 who really understood how to build iteratively. Brillio leadership expressed gratitude for the domain value I brought, especially during my transition conversations.

      Cons

Unfortunately, the role expectations, growth transparency, and career alignment were poorly managed. Brillio brought me in as an experienced domain professional but wanted to relabel me as a Business Analyst or Product Owner at any given time, which undermined my level of expertise. I was swapped out of the main account I was specifically hired to grow. Then I was reassigned to a new account without clear rationale. That took me by surprise especially when I clearly stated during my interview I’m here for the main account(my former employer). Additionally, the company’s handling of internal compensation transparency and equity is concerning. Although I appreciate pay transparency, Brillio accidentally disclosed salary details of a new team member in a lower-cost region, who was hired to take over my role for my initial account. The new hire was paid substantially more despite having less experience and no domain expertise, which was disheartening. These practices created confusion, reduced morale, and made it difficult to trust leadership’s intentions around career development or fairness.

Good company for learning and growth, with scope for better work-life balance

      Senior java developer

      Pros

Exposure to latest technologies (Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Cloud, etc.). Good client projects in BFSI, retail, and digital transformation domains. Supportive colleagues and a collaborative work culture. Opportunities to take ownership and work directly with clients. Agile-driven environment with focus on continuous learning.

      Cons

Work-life balance can be challenging at times, especially during client deliverables. Appraisal process and career growth opportunities could be more transparent.

      Pros

It’s actually much better than I thought it would be, the compensation is good and I get as much support from my team as I ask for.

      Cons

The India team does not respect your time whether IT or other. Their onboarding is awful, it’s structured well but using Silkroad to enter your personal information while interacting with their awful HR is a turnoff. Salary negotiation was also a nightmare with a very rude HR rep trying to lowball me.
