      Frustrating but still decent

      Pros

Good pay and good benefits, very laid-back in general with a relaxed dress code, guaranteed yearly raise for your first 4 years, decent UTO/PTO policy with a good accrual rate, lots of room for error/correction and growth, very flexible and accommodating when it comes to missing work for other obligations (appointments, childcare, etc). Overall, if you're just trying to keep your head down and make a living and do a good job without making it your whole life, it's a pretty good position despite the issues that make me want to ragequit sometimes. I have to remind myself a lot of all the positives that make it a better position than I could ever hope to get with my education level.

      Cons

Changing standards, changing job responsibilities, sometimes immature and unprofessional leadership, cliqueness on-site, bad decisions made by upper management who doesn't actually do the job, not enough training or learning materials, not enough done to make sure every employee and new-hire is set up for success, not many work from home opportunities for new-hires anymore, big toxic-positivity culture, using AI to grade performance (although the pros do outweigh the cons in my opinion)

      Not developer friendly

      Pros

The facilities team at the Minneapolis office is pretty great. We get free parking everyday and free lunch thrice a week

      Cons

Too much unnecessary process that slows down or makes it impossible to do everyday tasks for software engineers and not enough process that actually helps to create, maintain and deploy quality code fast and easy. Code duplication is always encouraged over code reuse, resulting in too much code to maintain. There are hundreds(literally!) of code repos that do the exact same thing. The company spends too much money on licensed tools even in cases where there are equivalent or better open source tools. And then turns around and fires engineers in the name of cost cutting

      Pros

Pay is decent, location is decent

      Cons

Monolithic code base, hard to work with
