The culture is woeful in the Heathrow Head Office. The place sucks the joy out of you, It is ugly, depressing and as quiet as a cemetery. There is very much a them and us relationship with the Operational Frontline. Recent efforts have been made to bring the managers together as a community but these are undermined by the hire and fire culture. They have also bought in consultants who will willingly throw anyone else under the bus.

Union workers are extremely hard working and polite.

The General Manager is clinically bully. He abuses everyone right from unionized team members upto management. He doesn't have any filter. Multiple times physically abused people. Thw culture is highly toxic. The HR himself is highly toxic and is pretty similar to the villains in the movies. Spending most of the working hours in planning against the staff who use their brain and wish to make things better. There's no system or SOP and highly pressurizing environment. No significant benefits or resources to help you do your job. When they use you they throw you.

Shift work can be physically and mentally draining. depending on the person itself: they have rostered overtime - some people like it some people don’t. I personally don’t because I would rather spend my time with my family after work.
