Senior Leadership is toxic… think of the movie, Don’t look up

      Senior project manager
      Former employee
      Toronto, ON
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Past leadership created an outstanding company from the inside out. Kurt Knapton was a leader whose vision in action inspired greatness and dedication among the company’s workforce, some are still there. The positive culture built during this time was rewarded by a workforce commitment by building and maintaining a solid reputation of excellence. By fostering a great deal of good will and attracting a skilled and dedicated workforce he set the company up for success - a win for the business, staff and the clients. The current leadership has in-done all of it. There are still some of those professionals kicking around, but many have given up on the company and left or been let go.

      Cons

They keep driving the best people out with useless, time consuming process, lack of appreciation and stagnant pay. They demand a lot but give little in return. Hard work is rewarded by more hard work until you quit or break or are eventually let go. Nobody’s safe from the next round of terminations and everyone knows it. Being an innovator does not earn you loyalty from this employer, just momentary recognition, which quickly fades into what have you done for me lately. When quarterly employee satisfaction surveys are analyzed and reported back at quarterly employee updates, troubling trends in employee satisfaction are met with gaslighting. Everything is fine, nothing to see here. We have the best leadership team, we are truly talented and amazing! That is a recurring takeaway. Nothing is acknowledged or actioned in any way. The only happy folks seem to be the executives who continually pat themselves on the back.

We’re sorry to hear that this experience was disappointing for you. Dynata has evolved significantly over the years as the business, market conditions, and client needs have changed, and we recognize that these shifts can be especially difficult for long tenured employees. Employee feedback from listening efforts is reviewed and helps inform initiatives and program updates as the organization continues to evolve, even when that feedback reflects challenging or uncomfortable themes. At the same time, we continue to assess how processes, expectations, and leadership practices support both the business and our people. Periods of change and restructuring can create uncertainty, and we understand the impact that can have. While we don’t comment on individual situations, we aim to approach these moments thoughtfully and with care for those affected. We appreciate the contributions you made during your tenure and wish you the best moving forward.

      Pros

Really great team in Melbourne with the exception of a one person that was hired with zero sales experience

      Cons

      - Toxic management - Negligent hiring process - Manager creating a toxic work culture

Not worth it, unless you really just need a quick job

      Pros

Remote, Somewhat flexible, Easy Interview process

      Cons

Not enough training only one day & once you're on the floor the rules change. Management is all over the place - you don't even have a 'team' or a specific Team Leader you can report too, its odd. Basically just thrown in a Teams chat & get to work. They expect you to read scripts verbatim and not even acknowledge that you're speaking to a live person, you're basically a robot. They expect you to use your own equipment - laptop, headset, and mouse. Their schedule system sucks, they don't post it till 2 hours before your shift, so you're always scrambling to find out if you work or not, hard to make plans. Lastly, when I let them know I had to resign, they said nothing they just blocked all my access to everything. That shows you a job is really just a job. Also its very very low pay ($13) for what you need to do, especially for working night hours.

Company has been going down hill for years and it continues

      Sales and marketing

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Most employees are wonderful people.

      Cons

Leadership has no idea what it is doing. They filed for bankruptcy, made no real change to the strategy to improve performance, revenue, or morale. Leaders continue to hold positions despite terrible financial results - they are never held accountable. They let high performing, legacy employees go becuase "they make too much money" and don't consider the consequences on employee morale, or the direct impacts on person they have "laid off". I had red flags during the interview process and wish I had listened to my gut.
