Exciting times at Firstup with strong leadership and great momentum

      Pros

      - Great product with strong market potential. - Exciting new leadership with Bill as CEO, building momentum for growth. - Great benefits: unlimited PTO with bonus incentives to ensure time off, “distance days,” 401K, competitive pay - Professional growth opportunities and the chance to wear multiple hats - Supportive, collaborative colleagues — truly great people to work with

      Cons

As with any company in transition, there’s change happening — which can feel fast-paced at times. But overall, the direction feels positive and energizing.

      5

Chaotic, frustrating, and unrewarding. There’s no point working here

      Pros

The only reason I haven’t lost my mind while I was still here was because I had the support of such amazing coworkers

      Cons

Horrible salary, zero benefits, employees are forced to take on multiple roles without extra compensation, management is incompetent and has no idea what they’re doing, etc. This company is a mess, and I don’t see any reason why anyone would want to work here. Stay away.

      Pros

Good pay and had a direction they wanted to move towards

      Cons

Very intense culture and many tenured AEs are now leaving

Focus in growth, not so much on Engineering

      Pros

The offer a good pay, and pay for health insurance.

      Cons

Lack of of knowledge in the C-level team of Engineering, which translates into last of trust. Budget constraints, unannounced lay offs, outsourcing to Europe.

Thank you for your feedback. We will make sure your review, along with the recent survey feedback from the Engineering team, is shared to support our leaders' ongoing development. We're also excited to welcome our new CTO to the Executive Leadership Team (joined in January 2024). His experience and expertise will be instrumental in further elevating our engineering capabilities.

      The stress isn't worth it...

      Business Outlook

      Pros

A few benefits that don't make up for how horrible the rest of the company is.

      Cons

Salary and benefits are awful compared to other companies, workloads are overwhelming due to the fact employees are forced into different roles. A lot of people in middle management are incompetent and abuse their power, while those at the top are incredibly disconnected from the rest of the company, I would not recommend working here, unless you enjoy stress.

      7

The company is a sinking ship, and the incompetent leadership is at the helm

      Anonymous employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

There is nothing good about working here. Not only is the leadership toxic and incompetent, but the work conditions are terrible as well. Brutal workloads, long hours, low salary, and no room for growth. If you want to see some success, Firstup is not the place to be looking.

      Cons

Firstup is basically a sinking ship with how incompetent its leadership is. They force employees into meeting unrealistic targets and make unreasonable demands all the time. Most of the decisions they make are purely driven by profit and often come at the expense of everyone else. They treat employees like garbage and have driven a lot of the talent away from the company with their toxic behavior. Even if you surpass their expectations, they will just take your hard work for granted and increase your workload without rewarding you at all. If you’re looking for a company to work for, don’t choose Firstup.

      Pros

      Holiday pay and great colleagues.

      Cons

Leaders with no leadership skills! They lie about your pay and your benefits! They don't give bonuses when they said they would, management is terrible, and work culture is non-existent! It's all work and no play, making the work atmosphere dull, stressful, and awful!

      Pros

None, as far I can tell.

      Cons

Terrible pay, brutal workloads, and insane micromanagement. There wasn’t a day where I wasn’t stressed, exhausted, or frustrated. I couldn’t see myself working here long term and building a career so I decided to leave.

Exercise extreme caution before entering here!

      Pros

Vacation bonuses are a pro, yet, not used due to toxicity

      Cons

I have experienced a terrible pattern of micromanagement, gaslighting, and dehumanization here. The supervisory personnel consistently were arrogant to me and blatantly lied about our salary. I have publicly reprimanded for seeking clarification on a task, and factually inaccurate statements. The lying is exceptionally exhausting. This situation is demonstrably terrible. I have always experienced discrimination because I am an Asian. It is strongly NOT recommended for individuals seeking stable employment!

      Pros

More time offs because work atmosphere was so stressful!

      Cons

Demotivating leadership as well us unethical. Your manager wil force you to take a time off if they need to cut cost! Also forced to play different roles without the extra pay. The CEO is abusive and terribly cheap!
