      Bad Management long hours

      Business Outlook

      Pros

24 hour shifts, toxic work environment. Most if the service users are lovely, though and some nice support workers which you won't see much of as your like ships passing in the night, unless your with a service user that needs two carers.Undervalued, underpaid and unappreciated.Slave labour was abolished in the 17th century sometimes starting work as early as 10am till 11pm then sleepover to start again at 7 till as late as 10 or 12pm.Then next day you could do a 9 till 4pm.shift.All for minimum wage my advice is don't bother! There are better paid and all round better jobs out there. You won't be appreciated and it will affect your health as your constantly working long hours for very little pay.The recruitment process is ridiculous for the amount of pay you get it took mine around about 6 months as they are not organised

      Cons

Bad management, some awful service users, crap training and unrealistic expectations and ridiculously long hours slave labour

      Pros

As a charity, the people we support really are at the heart of every decision. Steve Veevers seems to want to listen, and has a strong plan to get the organisation back on track. Diversity is valued here. Everyone at Hft wants the same thing - to support people to live their best lives.

      Cons

The pay is poor - as a result of being part of a chronically under-funded sector. Too many re-structures have happened to try to resolve financial difficulties, resulting in lots of uncertainty and loss of knowledge.

      Great people, awful management

      Business Outlook

      Pros

My colleagues and the people we support

      Cons

Management is lazy, uncaring and the lack of support is disgusting. We do long hours for awful pay and have to take on a lot of responsibility. Management seem to pawn their jobs off on to us and on call never seem to answer. The company is a mess and it’s all because of incompetent leaders and managers who can’t seem to make the right decision or just don’t care

      Horrendous

      Business Outlook

      Pros

No upsides of working at hft, only the people we support

      Cons

Really poor pay at £11 an hour. The hours are long, workloads are unrealistic and there are no compensatory breaks. There is a bullying culture and everyone who sees it and doesnt speak up is complicit! Management and their work ethic in general are just poor, supposedly too busy to care. The services that hft own are in a terrible state. Wellbeing and safety are clearly not a priority. Too many cutbacks and redundancies which have strained services. I don't buy that hft can't afford to pay us a decent wage when senior management on 65+ and levels above them anything from around 100. Where does the money come from to pay these kinds of wages then? Training is dreary and too much e-learning.

      Terrible Managment

      Support worker

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Rewarding work with people in genuine need of it. A sense of Community. Great way to give back.

      Cons

Poor Managment. They don’t respect work life balance or personal boundaries. Lack of structure from top to bottom leads to low pay, overworking and a sense of abandonment from higher ups.

      Pros

Fair pay, flexible working, reasonable workload, supportive line management, nice colleagues, remote working, flex leave.

      Cons

Pay increases don't keep up with inflation, unsustainable organisational financial position.

      Don't do it to yourself!

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The people we support and some colleagues are nice,

      Cons

Poor pay. Management like to delegate a lot and bully. HR don't care or support you with anything. Safety is a tick box exercise. So many bad decisions made up top including redundancies but HFT reinventing the wheel?? I don't get it. The culture got worse. Morale so low and support work was getting more and more stressful. Glad I left and good luck to the next person!!
