Hobby lobby is a very comfortable, safe place to work as a creative. The office space is very chill and collaboration is encouraged. I always feel supported by my team leads and the projects tend to be fun. The workload typically isn’t overbearing and there isn’t much need for overtime.

There are lot of cooks in the kitchen. Every design will go through many people and their opinions before finally getting somewhere. You also don’t create nearly as much from scratch as you would think. The company buys licensed artwork and the designers use that to create the products. The pay feels low and the benefits are nonexistent. There are also several levels of upper management so there are many people to go through to get approval for time off and any changes made.

Great pay, vacation, PTO, benefits are ok

Pay is above average, because..

You're going to get worked to death You're going to wear nice clothes to unload an insane amount of freight and throw it up on a high shelf You won't have enough labor to get half of the tasks done You might have a DM whose home store looks like trash and comes to criticize everything about your good-looking store on a regular basis (You're the worst boss I've ever had, Steve) No work/life balance I got hired at one store, "trained" for 2 weeks, got moved to a store an hour away with zero input Archaic systems including ordering, checkouts, labor forecasts, and truck unloading/stocking Holidays are insane, and the hours you'll be working are too You'll be expected to cut everyone's hours down to the bone when sales aren't spectacular, and you'll be picking up the slack You're going to touch the same products dozens of times instead of off the truck, on the shelf, and done The list goes on really. I was at my last job for 13 years, didn't stay a full year at this hellscape. The pay just wasn't justified and the benefits were subpar.

Management is terrible and makes you feel like your job is in jeopardy everyday.

Good pay comparatively, fair benefits, paid vacation weeks, closed one day a week

Poorly managed. Years go by without problem solving issues that affect and hinder employees from performing their duties to the best of abilities. Policies set up to disappoint and confuse consumers. No consequences for members of management behaving unprofessionally.

Some benefits, always have Sunday off, IF you have a good manager they can be flexible and work with your schedule if you are in school

Retail is always tough, customers can be awful, corporate doesn't care for employees in the slightest and will put on Christian messages over the intercom before/after closing rather than actually listen to what employees need and make changes. You also type in everything on register by hand, leading to carpal tunnel and many mistakes that leave customers screaming at you
