What is overtime like at Hobby Lobby?

Highly sexist environment even for retail, laxed accountability for employees, physically challenging work for the pay, no consistency with employee accountability, opportunity for advancement is rare and a popularity contest

The pay is ok but you never get 40 hours

No overtime and never 40 hours. Week

Coworkers were nice, got paid more for holidays and overtime

Unlimited overtime. You would be forced to work overtime at a moments notice

The same as the pros

Sundays off, scheduled breaks, co-workers,

Seasonal, part time, but on truck day, you are expected to work however long it takes to put all merchandise away, even if you have already put in a 10 hour day, you are "expected" to stay more hours on same day and work as a "team" to get all merchandise put away on the floor. They don't ask you if you want the additional hours, you are just expected to do it. The kicker is that because you are part time, you work under 40 hours, so the OT you put in on truck day is not considered OT because you have not worked 40 hours that week. Not good management, not good. Also, the stores are dirty, floors, displays, bathrooms, yuck.

The customers are horribly messy and let their kids break everything. During the holidays, the assistant mgrs get all the over time (65 - 70 hours a week) but do nothing except walk around and talk to their friends. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew stress and struggle to get their freight put away in the few hours we are given.

The store is closed on Sundays. Flexible schedule.
