      Pros

The opportunities and clients you work with are great. The entire team is amazing and there are more than enough learning opportunities at the company.

      Cons

Review process was changed while I was there which made it difficult for promotions to happen within the company as people outside of your team reviewed your performance and weren't seeing what you were doing on a day-to-day basis.

      Ups and Downs

      Data analyst
      Former employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Mostly remote. Health insurance coverage changed a few times, but mostly the plans were inexpensive and very good. I got to work with many cool clients and I enjoyed the work that I did. Company culture was good before the company was acquired. Great coworkers and team members

      Cons

After they were acquired by another company, things never really settled down. Change is expected for a while, but it never ended. Constantly hiring new positions that will "turn the company around" but we did not see positive results month to month or year to year. Management was constantly expressing concern about losing clients, and upcoming layoffs which really had a bad influence on morale. There was a pay raise freeze for nearly 2 years while I was there. During the hiring process they had explained that employees were periodically eligible to apply for raises and promotions but I was blocked from even applying several times. I was there nearly 3 years and never had a performance review There were several performance review initiatives and systems that were implemented and then immediately stopped - after all employees had put in hundreds of hours of training and onboarding on them. When I was laid off due to my position being eliminated, I knew that my team had been interviewing candidates to join our team in the same role as I was in, so it was not really being eliminated

      Awful workplace

      Content producer
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Interesting projects to work on

      Cons

The onboarding process was disorganized and did not provide sufficient support. There was little to no opportunity for shadowing, and additional training or learning opportunities were frequently delayed or deprioritized. While questions were encouraged, responses from leadership were often dismissive or negative, which made it difficult to seek clarification or improve performance. Work-life balance was a significant challenge, with expectations largely driven by client demands regardless of workload or circumstances. Overall, the environment was difficult to work in and did not support employee growth or well-being.

Flexible work options but toxic leadership and disorganization

      Senior media director
      Former employee
      New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Flexible home/hybrid/office policy (no required RTO) - Reasonably good 401K match (4%) with no vesting period

      Cons

      - Massive staffing shortages with a heavy reliance on offshore talent in India to fill gaps, but most people are across 3-5 accounts, pressure to avoid filling open roles - Some senior leadership is quite verbally abusive to junior level folks in very unprofessional ways, and this seems quite accepted by other leaders - Disorganized without much process to speak of - most onboarding or transitions dont really have any oversight - There really isnt any company culture, most people are there just to work and there isnt much effort made to change that perception or reality - Seems to always be having layoffs or letting people go, including very long-tenured employees

      Pros

Only can think of the fun clients

      Cons

Super toxic environment where you will not be set up for success. It’s really unfortunate, because the work is interesting, but the people (specifically the director of social media and the VP of creative) were nasty, belittling and unhelpful. As I reflect on my time at this company, I’m deeply saddened that I felt singled out and was reprimanded for adjusting to a new position, while also dealing with a family emergency. I was in such a vulnerable state and I wish I were given more grace and handled with more care as a new employee.

      Beware of new "leadership"

      Senior manager
      Current employee
      New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The company was once a thriving and soulful place work. There were understanding, trusting and professional leaders and VPs that invested time and effort in fostering a positive work environment. That was once upon a time.

      Cons

After the buyout, it was clear that things shifted; and not for the better. Nepotism hires is the name of the game with the buying company replacing great, original leadership with unqualified and untrustworthy personnel. New VPs in key positions will not hesitate to to dodge responsibility and throw their direct reports under the bus. They will take credit for the thoughtful work that is being done by the junior staff. They will force unproven products into the marketplace and when it doesn't perform as planned, they will double down; making it awkward for the client and the unwilling staff. Of course, the blame will fall on the staff caught in the middle. It has been a whirlwind as leadership will promise something and then do something else. They talk a good game, but it's just smoke and mirrors Several knowledgable, key individuals have left on their own accord because of the severe mismanagement in the newly hired management ranks.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your time with us at Jellyfish. As you’re aware, Jellyfish has undergone a number of changes since we were brought into the Brandtech Group, and some disruption is to be expected. However, what you describe is troubling to read, and does not reflect the way we want anyone to feel. As with all reviews, we will be sharing this feedback internally to continue to improve, but we would also encourage you to reach out to the People team to discuss this further.

      Dream job

      Data and analytics director
      Former employee
      Copenhagen, Capital Region
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to join Jellyfish. The company is known for hiring top-tier talent, so to get in the door was something I was proud of. If you’re looking to be at the cutting edge of digital marketing, surrounded by brilliant minds, this is the place to be. I had the privilege of working with the best leaders I’ve encountered in my entire career. The flexibility to work remotely and the support I received during my maternity phase were truly invaluable. Companies like Jellyfish are rare to come by. I highly recommend both the company and the Danish team. Our managing director is absolutely exceptional! I owe a lot to her and my VP.

      Cons

Jellyfish employees have excellent benefits and at times I felt some teams forgot just how lucky we are in the midst of other companies struggling,
