Pros
Free donuts
Flexible working location
Cons
Extremely green leadership has KK learning lessons they should have learned years ago. There is a constant tendency to put the cart before the horse, implementing heavily impactful initiatives without a cost benefit analysis or impact analysis. Departments are pulled into major rollouts with little to no warning. Standards are not well communicated between teams, often leaving a significant information gap between the field and the support crew.
Good luck getting clear KPIs. And don't expect your job description to mean anything. You will be expected to be twice as productive for the same pay.
Promises and plans mean nothing. Don't expect your leader to communicate changes impacting your role. There will absolutely be a double standard in place between leadership and their teams. It is not marked as unusual if your leader yells at you in front of others.
Beyond that, there's an overall issue with organization, communication, and planning. Too many irons in the fire at the same time. KK has many unresolved issues that should be addressed before committing to expansive R&D programs. Stop committing to action that hinders true progress.
Shops are poorly maintained and neglected. Donut machines are dirty with years of built up grease. Vendors are limited and unreliable, and many have fired KK due to ridiculous net90 and net120 terms, paying late, or being difficult to work with. Shops are ordered to replace furniture while we have no furniture supplier. Teams are held accountable for dilapidated drive thru boards but there's no supplier to replace or repair them. Finding materials to replace obsolete finishes is near impossible and there is no clear design standard to follow from shop to shop.
Many former franchise managers who were kept on during buyouts have been poorly integrated into the KK company side of business, actively working against efforts to improve their shops because they've "always done it that way". There is no accountability.
There appears to be little consistency in expectations, with many not held accountable to their obligations and held free from consequences. Bad leaders stay around too long.
