Pros
Pays well and has OK benefits
Cons
Let's start by addressing the 5 individuals who identify as "Black or African American" and rated Leafly with 5 stars.
There were 0 star ratings from Black/AA individuals a couple of months ago, and it jumped to 5 reviews ALL OF A SUDDEN.
As a person of color, I can promise you that these star ratings are disingenuous and false. I mean, seriously, LOOK at the rating details; The "White" employee reviews are the ACTUAL company ratings (~2 stars). Star ratings under "Black or African American" are suspiciously high (~5 stars), which is funny, because Leafly boasts itself as diverse and inclusive when that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, good luck if you're a person of color joining this company.
Picture this...
It's you, 10 months from now. Your KPIs are unreachable, your paycheck is late, and that recent large sale you closed does not qualify to be rightfully paid out for whatever MADE-UP REASON leadership gives you.
You will be overworked to tears and hate working with clients who, mind you, are always mad because they're overpromised and oversold on a product that generates little-to-no return. There will be no room for career advancement, despite leaders constantly stringing you along to make you think there's a chance at a promotion.
Sales leaders are fluffing up reviews to lure more unsuspecting victims closer to their imminent layoff (overhiring is part of the natural balance.) In-market visits are heavily forced with no way to measure their effectiveness, a directive that conflicts clearly with meeting/call/text/email KPIs. Ultimately, these desk KPIs are VERY MUCH being watched and measured and impact your paycheck and future employment with Leafly.
If you value your mental health, don't be tempted. Leafly deserves less than its current rating of 2.3 stars.
