      Pros

      - Smart engineers Thats it!

      Cons

Where do I begin! Came into the firm from another fund. So I know the industry. This place will kill all the enthusiasm you brought with you. A lot of smart people come together to work on projects and over engineer stuff to create mediocre or no value! The middle managers that are hired have no clue how to work in hedge fund environment. The tech leads would micro manage you at the expense of slowing things down and delaying the release so that they can keep their dependency. These so-called tech leads are only at best individual contributors who have over stayed at the company and have 0 language skills and I mean english language skills. They do not know how to communicate requirements to their direct reports and then play the blame game. The annual review is such a sham. Do not expect much. There is fake urgency created when things are not requested from business. Even HR's in the firm know through feedback reviews that the worst part is the culture of the firm but they can do nothing about it. If you created dependency in the team you will be taken out on your birthday along with the entire team to celebrate your birthday and if you have not then your birthday is just a regular day. There is no "team" culture. Each and every one in your team is just waiting for you to screw up so that they are not the one who is laid off. The senior management has no clue or they encourage this and has made themselves obscure. There is definitely a "tiger parenting" culture at the firm if you know what I mean! I went into the office each day that I have seen the worst and would not be surprised but I was wrong each time! Have heard comments ranging from why are you on your phone to not leave your work station. Think carefully about what you are getting into before you join this firm.
