Usual federal employment benefits, prestigious scientific and healthcare research agency, diversity and inclusion, work/life balance

It was great until 2025.

Great office and colleagues, good benefits and pay.

Unfortunate circumstances with new administration, probationary staff terminated.

Brilliant mission focused colleagues, meaningful work that has a real impact, good benefits and work life balance.

The current administration turned the well oiled machine into chaos, disrupting funding, research, travel, and more. I’ve heard that it is improving, but still constantly changing and a chaotic environment. I know it will one day get back to the amazing place it was.

Poor work-life balance. Most CS employees cannot take any time off in the 3rd and 4th quarters of gov. fiscal year.

Supportive environment, free health insurance

No other benefits, low pay

Regular government benefits, schedule is flexible, no micro managing

If not living extremely close there is heavy traffic and long commute time either from driving or metro. There is a heavy preference for graduate level degrees.

Good benefits and work-life balance
