Pros
At first it was a great company to work for, the pay wasn’t the greatest but it was a fun, fast paced environment. The opportunity to make great commission was there and you are trained to perform. The daily duties are pretty simple, and you get to create wonderful relationships with your customers. The schedule is fairly flexible as long as the store is staffed. You become a family with the people that you work with which makes it a less stressful environment.
Cons
After about three years of working for this company it spiraled downhill fast. The atmosphere was hectic, stressful, and there was no excitement left. If you don’t have staff for your store, you are expected to make sure the store is covered, no matter if you’ve already worked your shift that day or not. You would end up working 10-14 hour days because you are required to do so if no one else can cover it. You don’t get breaks or lunch breaks, you’re on your feet the whole shift. It can be extremely overwhelming when you are running a whole store by yourself because of not having staff. Upper management is TERRIBLE and there is a lot of “talking” behind peoples backs by upper management. There are no benefits to working here, they don’t give annual pay raises or raises based on performance. I received ONE pay raise in the 4 years i was there… There is no consideration for how employees feel or how overworked they are, it’s all about having the store open and making money.. I have never worked for a more selfish person in my life. If you quit without notice, they take any commission you’ve made and drop your pay to minimum wage, but they will reverse your check to change it and redeposit it, even if you finished out that pay period. You may be asked to do things that are absolutely not your job WHATSOEVER which is very unprofessional. They will call you while you’re working to talk down to you and make you feel like you’re nothing. I would never recommend working for them unless you’re a regular employee, but the pay is terrible even if you do have good sales. Once you’re at a manager, you aren’t likely to move any further, they also won’t allow you to step down. The pay isn’t consistent because you have slow season where you don’t have as much opportunity to make commission. They are all about numbers and will make sure to point out where you’re failing but never congratulate you for the metrics you’re succeeding in. It’s never mentally draining and physically exhausting but no one cares about that. Don’t expect to be treated like a human, because you are replaceable no matter what. If you don’t have staff, they won’t allow you to go on planned vacations, even if you put in a request months prior. This company is a joke and i’ve seen it all unravel from the inside.
