      Pros

      - Lots of training and mentorship with dedicated intern trainers - Opportunity to work on real projects and present to clients - Detailed 2 week 'bootcamp' - Great social atmosphere among interns and lots of opportunities to talk to other employees - Great breakfasts!

      Cons

      - Interns often come in with varying levels of coding experience, so can be difficult to adjust initially. They do very well to get you up to speed though!

      Pros

Great people. Great mentoring/growth culture. Lots of opportunities to try different things with different clients. Still good friends with lots of my colleagues after years away.

      Cons

As a consultancy, you're sometimes at the whims of clients or bid processes. But generally we formed long lasting, productive relationships with clients which made this less painful.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Supportive team culture with genuinely helpful colleagues, strong focus on continuous learning and development, interesting client projects that build real skills, approachable leadership who listen to feedback, and a healthy work-life balance for most teams.

      Cons

Some projects can feel overly fast-paced at times, internal processes occasionally slow down decision-making, client demands can vary in predictability, career progression speed depends heavily on project allocation, and compensation may feel moderate compared to some larger tech firms.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Excellent culture and friendly colleagues Employees consistently highlight a supportive, collaborative, and welcoming environment with strong teamwork. Strong work-life balance (for many teams) Softwire scores highly on work-life balance in employee reviews, and many staff describe flexible and reasonable working practices. High-quality technical work and learning opportunities Engineers and interns frequently mention exposure to modern technologies, challenging projects, code reviews, and strong mentoring. Transparent and approachable management Reviews often describe leadership as open, consultative, and employee-focused. Good reputation among employees The company receives exceptionally high ratings on Glassdoor, with very high recommendation rates and positive CEO approval

      Cons

Promotion opportunities can be limited at senior levels Some employees mention fewer advancement opportunities once you reach higher positions. Occasional long hours While many praise work-life balance, some reviews—particularly from interns and project-based teams—report periods of long working hours. Potential lack of fresh perspectives One recurring observation is that employee retention is very high, which can sometimes lead to less diversity of thought and slower organizational change. Some projects may be less exciting than expected Discussions from candidates and employees suggest that consultancy work can occasionally involve routine or less innovative client projects.
