How are career development opportunities at StarCompliance?

Good career path, fantastic colleagues, relaxed WFH policies, flexible working hours. Advocates for people wanting to learn and go above and beyond. Great communication between departments.

Lack of advanced training material. Client/Star relationship from a support perspective often feels overlooked. Lack of diversity when it comes to Roles/Responsibilities at a support level; someone could half lots of responsibilities over a particular field of work, but often goes unrecognised by the wider business.

Great team culture with supportive colleagues, strong onboarding, and plenty of opportunities to learn. Leadership is approachable and transparent, and the work feels meaningful and valued. Overall, a very positive and collaborative environment. I haven’t experienced any significant cons so far. If anything, I just wish I had joined StarCompliance earlier.

One of the standout things about working here is the company’s genuine commitment to employee development. There are always new initiatives, learning opportunities, and support for both professional and personal growth. From structured career development frameworks to access to mentoring, it's clear the business wants people to thrive, not just "do the job." Benefits and perks are reviewed regularly and always seem to be moving in the right direction. Recent improvements have shown Star is listening to employee feedback, it’s encouraging to see employee wellbeing being taken seriously and actively invested in.

With growth and constant improvements, things can move quickly and change often, which can sometimes feel a little reactive rather than planned. Communication around change could be clearer at times.

They are flexible, in terms of allowing for a healthy work-life balance A strong feeling of team and sense of belonging. - There is opportunity to explore and bring in new innovations - A lot of opportunities to develop as a person and as a professional - Great work/life balance - Effective Communication lines.

- Not sure if it is a con, but Star is a very fast moving organization where you have to keep up with all the innovations, else you will be left behind.

- Long term direction & c-suite leadership making right decisions - Great early career experience working with a series of ross-functional and international teams - Lots of exposure to both higher-level business strategy and technical concepts if you're willing to look for it

- Occasional conflict between stuck-in-their-ways middle management & senior leadership that results in mixed signals for most employees. - Mountains of tech debt - Client retention is very high because product is very difficult to off-board. Led to large numbers of unsatisfied customers reaching out to an already struggling client services department. - Product/Industry comes with a very high learning curve. Employees had a fairly high turnover rate. This led to problems with spending tons of time to train employees only for them to leave shortly after they became self-sufficient. Over time, employees felt less incentivized to train incoming employees and compounded the problem. Huge drain on morale. - No formal internal training - Continued selling products to clients that straight up did not work (political contributions search) and punting the problem to the CS team to deal with the fallout. - No QA team - Limited opportunities for career growth within StarCompliance

- great people to work with. Absolutely everyone is friendly, kind and supportive. It makes coming to work an absolute joy! - growing company with opportunities for professional development. - Improving company benefits with a recent pension scheme change. - Great focus on mental health with passionate mental health first aiders. I feel my personal wellbeing is important.

No company is perfect but there are not many points to criticise at Star. - Star needs to put their focus more on enabling a work-life balance. Work hours need updating to modern standards and a compensation for extra hours worked is required. People work hard and need to feel appreciated for that. Nobody is doing it for free. Flexible hours around core hours to suit company and employee needs are key. - Management skills need improving. - The benefit package is getting better but there is room for improvement.

There are so many pros working at StarCompliance: -Great people and culture - A lot of projects happening so plenty of room for personal growth - Progression and promotion opportunities (I was recently promoted so I can say this happens!) - Regular salary reviews - New benefits being changed and introduced - Chief execs are approachable and you will work with them on a daily basis - Although predominantly remote, there are plenty of social opportunities to meet colleagues in person.
