Greetings Consultant, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We aim to provide clear policies, transparent communication, and a supportive working environment for all of our teachers. Compensation, training requirements, scheduling, and performance expectations are outlined during onboarding, in each teacher's service agreement, and in our Teacher Handbook, and we continually review these processes to ensure they are fair and aligned with industry standards. We understand that not every role will be the right fit for every individual, and we encourage teachers to raise concerns directly with management so they can be addressed constructively. Feedback, even when critical, helps us evaluate and improve. We wish you the best in your future endeavors. All the best, TutorABC

Dear Teacher, Thank you for your valid feedback regarding your time working for us. We value your flexibility and emphasize that working from home is one of the biggest benefits of this occupation and our company as well. You can work from anywhere in the world as long as you have a quiet environment, a good internet connection, and a bright scene. Regarding low payment, you may reach out to one of our Director of Studies, and see if they can evaluate your classes and maybe offer you a higher salary. If you are not sure how to do that, please reach out to one of our Teacher Public Representatives in the Community, and they will help you accordingly. Sincerely, Tutor ABC

      Pros

The schedule is the best due to flexibility. Teaching materials are provided. Training materials and live training are provided at no cost. Management has made many positive changes form salary, to training, and providing guidance,

      Cons

While all the training materials are provided you are not compensated for the time you spend reading over them. Sadly, no matter how many positive changes are made you still have those who always complain. I am grateful for this job and its flexibility. I’ve learned a lot since I’ve been here over 7 years.

Greetings Teacher, We appreciate you taking the time to stop by Glassdoor and leave us feedback. It's great to hear that the scheduling offers such flexibility, and having teaching materials provided along with free training and live sessions is a huge plus. Our GTR team, along with the support of our Teacher Reps, Mentors, and Demo Coaches, have really invested in creating a supportive environment for everyone. It sounds like you have a balanced perspective on things. It's true that while the training materials are provided, the time spent reviewing them isn't compensated. It's understandable that despite many positive changes, there are always some who may find reasons to complain. Your gratitude for the job and appreciation of its flexibility really shine through. Seven years is quite a milestone, and it's clear you've gained valuable experience and knowledge during your time there. Here's to continued growth and success in your role! We thank you again for taking the time to write out such thoughtful feedback. Best of luck to you and we hope you have many more happy years teaching with us. Cheers! TutorABC (helpme@tutorabc.com)

A Deceptive Sham of a Company - Liars and Censorship When You Seek Reasoning or Clarification

      Pros

Yeah, from my experience, I can't think of one... Bear in mind - this company is offering 'the chance' to win $100 in a raffle if the teachers who work here give good reviews. So, don't believe every good review you read about this horrible company!

      Cons

First off, they claim a quick response time in reference to your application (1 week). This is the first lie, as it took nearly a month and multiple emails; some of which were never responded to. Then, during the interview, and after expressing my concern relating to the company I was currently working with, I was told that despite my concerns, I had nothing to worry about and that TutorABC was a much better choice and a good company to work for by the interviewer - stating that hours would not be a problem and that the pay was substantially better. Let me just say, as I'm sure many of you can relate...It's not a good feeling to be lied to, to your face, and deceived in a manner of giving up a more stable job, based on someone's word. Thirdly, I had to wait a month before having my first class - one that pays a mere $12/hr. (I say an hour because the class was 45 minutes + 10 minutes early entry + an extra 5 minutes to do the reports...so yes, an hour for $12, despite how the company wants to spin it while the 25-minute classes pay $8...do the math and tell me if it adds up and aligns with the other base pay). Then, they spit on me more by giving me another single 45 min. class a few days later. I'm sure you can imagine how insulted and disrespected I felt at this point. So I reached out to the Teacher Community and asked for clarification as to why the rate of pay doesn't align with the 25-minute classes, only to have them delete my post and censor me without even bothering to message/email me addressing my concern, eventually banning me for yet again reaching out to the teacher community when they were unresponsive themselves. This company is not credible, dependable, or honest. They lie to you, censor you, and treat you like a worm beneath their shoe. I have worked for many ESL companies over the years, and while each has its own faults, none have been as horrible as this company. Remember, if a company is paying their employees to leave good reviews, how can you possibly trust its credibility or the supposed 4 or 5-star reviews. Believe me when I say they are a terrible company to work for and you mean nothing to them. And for those of you who may question my review, ask yourself this..."Why would he take the time to write such a detailed review, if he was being dishonest...why wouldn't he write a short review and give a poor star if his intent was simply to discredit this company..?" I am writing this review in hopes that you will heed my words and stay clear of this company so that you may avoid the pitfall that I fell into. Trust me, search elsewhere -- there are so many better ESL companies out there.
