They pay could be better as I'm only getting just over minimum wage, not allowed any time off in June and December for stocktaking.

Poor pay compared to other merchants Old branches mine being one that isn't on the list for refurbishment but is desperate for it. Progression is slow as people don't move up often enough so you can feel stuck in the same place for years.

Everything has changed since Wolseley ended their contract with XPO LOGISTICS, last year around September. We got tons of good words before Wolseley take over. Everything gonna be the same, nothing will change bla bla bla. Well all of this just lies. November when they took us over and a month later just before Christmas they've made 6 people redundant, some people getting a big payout working within the company for 10-20 years. 7 months later they're short on drivers and calling back the one's who got redundant. How pathetic is this? No respect to others. They cut back all overtimes. Wolseley doesn't care for you, bare in mind you will be just a number. If you make a mistake they will screw you over, making you guilty. The job is not the hardest but I found it underpaid, multi drop with 3 to 8 stores in different locations. Some are easy to access, some are impossible and they don't really care to help the driver. You will have to use FLT as well for unloading and loading which makes you to do two different jobs that's why I think the pay should be better. No communication at all between the branches and DC. At the moment people are leaving and they have no drivers. If we bring our friends and family and they spend 12 weeks working there, you will get 1 day of extra holiday. Is this a joke or what? That's a motivation, others offer some money but hey you get holiday instead. Do yourself a favour and don't bother

Poor wage, they pay just pence above minimum wage so they can call themselves ‘competitive’. Shifts are longer than normal companies, 8-5 not 8-4 like other places. Their processes for everything seem to make no sense, with small problems seemingly needing small fixes but nobody in management ever being open to feedback. Unreasonable expectations around workload, continuously busy with team members who have left not being replaced even when the workload clearly needs them so everyone else on the team has to absorb the work leading to stress. You are tracked and micromanaged within an inch, there’s absolute zero trust between management and employee which creates a pretty toxic culture. I have hated my experience working here to date, but I have bills to pay. There are no career opportunities, they talk about growth and promotions but nothing ever comes to fruition.

Some good benefits, pension etc.

Below average pay, actions don't match promises, senior management don't really listen to the people at the coal face.
