Overall -Process: went slow and didn’t standout as abnormal.
Hiring manager wanted an informal talk to see how my personality was.
Process Began: Email reply from company to me with availability for phone call followed by 2nd interview.
Ending: with a very run of the mill, sorry we’re going in another direction email to me after I followed up with them on the status of the opening.
My take on it to share: The application process left me feeling annoyed.. why? that I took time from a full time job to be more or less asked about how I got things done instead of how I could be an asset for their brand.
I felt the new employee I spoke with wanted to know how to do their job with an helper being the “creative producer” opening instead of how I can be an asset.
That is not the job description for this type of title.
in conclusion, upon asking and having confirmation on long hours, taking a pay cut (this would have been 20k less than my job now!) I’d say it was more so, a waste of my energy/time. It seems to be a trend where you must jump through hoops to not have a clear rundown prior to moving forward in their messy process ie) it was fairly difficult having to move around a hectic work day to only echo questions about my resume that could have been avoided; if the interviewer did her part and googled companies I had worked for prior to our 2nd interview chat/ etc.
