      Communications and Community Manager Interview

      Aug 14, 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at 360Learning in Jul 2023

      Interview

THE PROCESS The process was very fast: about 6 weeks from application to offer, including 7 interviews + 1 case study + 2 check ins with the recruiter. Step 1: screening call with the recruiter (30mins). Along with the confirmation of the call I received a pdf about the entire recruitment process, with links to company blog posts about the work culture and indications of what the interviewers will be looking for (mentions of the product, the culture etc.). Super helpful. Step 2: call with the hiring manager (45mins) who asked detailed questions about my skills in relation to the job desc, and experience of B2B/marketing teams. Be prepared to mention specific accomplishments and metrics. Step 3: case study. A take home set of questions to be completed within 72h. I got to choose when to receive and file the case study. Questions are directly related to the job description (this is what this current project looks like, how would you improve the growth etc.). This was very useful exercise which allowed me to showcase my approach and ideas, and to really get a sense of my strengths and weaknesses to then discuss them openly. Step 4-5: discussion of my case study with the hiring manager + brand director (1h) immediately followed by discovery call with brand director (30mins). Step 6-7: 2 back-to-back interviews (45mins each) with members of the marketing teams. The questions were specific to Convexity (feedback, creativity, team work...). Step 8: culture fit interview with the COO (45mins), again specific to Convexity values. MY TAKEAWAYS -The recruiter was GREAT. Super friendly, actively in touch throughout the process, provided feedback after every step etc. Don’t hesitate to lean on your recruiter, mine was great at preparing me for each interview. -There was excellent transparency throughout the process: the salary range was given during the screener call, and I was able to bring up my salary expectations in a follow-up call. -7 interviews is a lot, but despite interview nerves I was surprised at how enjoyable they were, and I got a lot of info about the company and role out of them (only the last 2 interviews maybe didn't give as much new info). Getting to know the team really is what sold me on the job and company. The interviews are intense and fast paced (each interviewer has a long list of questions to get through) but everyone was extremely kind, and I really felt valued as a candidate throughout the whole process. I'd not experienced this before. -The first few interviews were more challenging for me because you have to be really ready to discuss the details of your experience with clear facts and metrics. The last three interviews were more focused on Convexity (company culture). There's plenty of resources on that on the company site and YouTube videos (and the recruiter can guide you through this), and you become more familiar with this as you go through the process. -Convexity: there's a huge Google slides document cookie-cutter candidate profile. The hiring manager and brand director were open to ideas and questions. I felt that I could be open that some tasks were challenging to me or that I had a lot of learning to do about a particular topic. Overall it felt like a healthy and positive process.
