I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at AKUNA CAPITAL in Mar 2016
Interview
Applied online, then did a HackRank test. 2-3 requires DP (if you care about complexity), others are easy. Then an one-sided web interview, mostly behavioral, one or two very simple math questions. Weeks later received invitation to a tech phone interview. Many questions, but most are straightforward. Then got invitation to last round web interview. My interviewers were very kind. Haven't heard back for about a week.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AKUNA CAPITAL (New York, NY) in Sep 2025
Interview
1st round: 80 quick mental math questions in 8 min + 30 sequences questions in 16 min; hard to say whether it is difficult
3rd round: market making game with "alphabet games"
OA with coding, followed by a one-way video interview with math, first round of standard algo question, final round with one math interview one coding interview. Overall pretty standard quant questions
In a negative interview scenario for a quantitative role at Akuna Capital, the atmosphere feels tense, with palpable pressure hanging in the air. As the interview progresses, the candidate struggles to articulate their responses, stumbling over technical questions that should be well within their domain. Their attempts to communicate their problem-solving strategies are marred by ambiguity and lack of clarity, failing to impress the interviewers with their analytical prowess. Overall, it's a disheartening experience marked by missed opportunities and a failure to showcase the candidate's true potential.
