I can sum up my interview experience with AMResorts in one word... Unprofessional. Throughout the process, the interviewers were telling me why I should NOT work at AMResorts (one individual even cited "you're crazy to work here"). Here's what they shared: high turn-over rates, uncooperative colleagues, heavy workload, long hours, low pay, frantic pace, poor communication from senior management, entitled, untrained younger colleagues, and more.
I understand the value of 'keeping it real' with prospects to set realistic expectations of the work, people and culture. But, I was astonished and dismayed by the low morale and disrespect being exhibited by each interviewer. Upon sharing my experience with family and friends, they expressed concerns.
Finally, interviewers seem to be looking for the "perfect" new hire. One interviewer bombarded me with a series of questions that aimed to reaffirm that I do not have a specific set of skills that were clearly not noted on my resume (nor were they listed as requirements in the job description). They also demonstrated a complete disregard for my time and put me in a compromising situation that placed my current job in jeopardy.
So, to all future interviewees, my word of advice is this... Proceed with caution.
