I applied online. I interviewed at API (American Petroleum Institute).

    Interview

I have interviewed with API twice for two positions two years apart. Each time I was brought in for an interview. Each time Human Resources went out of their way to stress that they always respond to inquiries from every candidate. Each time this promise was broken. Advice to API: do not make promises you cannot keep.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took a week. I interviewed at API (American Petroleum Institute) (Washington, DC) in January 2016.

    Interview

One on One, typical, to the point. The interviewer was very accomplished in her field which was a little intimidating. I was asked about my experience as it related to the team's focus. I tried to answer as best as I could. I was introduced to some other folks on the team. The overall process was generally pleasant. I learned to be better prepared on the industry the next time I interview.

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at API (American Petroleum Institute).

    Interview

Interviewed through a 3rd party placement firm. Interview went realtively well, I thought. I was able to answer each of their questions. Given the analytical nature of the position, I attempted to provide detailed answers so they could fully understand my experience. However, they decided to 'pass' on me because my responses weren't succint. I got that notfiication relatively quickly, within an hour of the interview. I guess my placement firm was efficient and I didn't need to wait around wondering of the outcome.
