The HR (outsourced) contacted me after applying through Indeed. The interview was extremely brief. She asked about my pay requirements and I was very clear on my minimum. Her comment caught regarding compensation was a bit odd and immediately set off a red flag.
I drove 90 minutes in rush hour traffic for a 5 minute face to face. The manager conducting the interview was very nice and realistic about pay. We quickly realized that what I needed would not be foreseeable. The interview was ended.
I really wish the HR department would have informed me that my pay requirements were not in line with the company. My wife and I had our first child three days before this interview and I was using vacation time to stay at home. This was a waste of gas and time.
