Answered a posting on Craigslist and was invited for an interview a few weeks later. Came in for a proofreading test. I was then invited back for a second interview. Showed up for the interview early and filled out an application.
I was left in the waiting area for more than 45 minutes past my scheduled interview time. During that period, the HR assistant, V, came out once to the waiting room, reeking of fake sorority girl charm (I've seen more sincere smiles on car salesmen). She apologized for the delay before going back in to leave me sit for another 20 minutes.
Finally (finally!), the CEO comes out and I am brought into an office with all the warmth and personality of a government detention center. From the start, it is clear he has a time limit set on the interview. Each attempt to answer a question beyond the superficial was met with an abrupt, "Enough." Charming.
The interview is pretty standard fare, asking questions about each of the positions on my resume. And, just as I had figured at the start of the interview, at almost exactly the 30-minute mark, the interview is over. He shows me out, informing me that I should call the initial HR contact, L, the next day to follow-up. Upon calling, I was offered the job.
