I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Ad Hoc (DC) (Orem, UT) in Oct 2021
Interview
Initial phone call with recruiter, video call with two researchers (very enjoyable conversation), then a practice research task with two researchers (moderated a role play web usability session). Did NOT require a portfolio. They were very open about what to expect if I got hired and talked very highly about the company. Everything they said positive about the company was totally accurate after I got hired.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Ad Hoc (DC) in Sep 2021
Interview
Interview process was very straightforward. The recruiter was very clear and prepared me well for what to expect on a quick call. Initial interview with a researcher was quick and the person was pretty neutral (not friendly, but not rude). The second interview was the homework presentation and those two interviewers were super warm and inviting. The final interview with the head of practice and delivery manager was wonderful and it gave me a good sense of what the team culture was like.

Question 1
For the homework, they asked me to create a research plan for a fictitious product.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ad Hoc (DC) (Washington, DC) in Oct 2020
Interview
I completed three rounds of interviews before receiving and accepting an offer.
The first round interview broadly covers your experience as a researcher, including methods and projects you've worked on. The second round is a live exercise based on a short take home assignment. The last round was with the hiring manager and the practice director.
I found the interviews to be fair and impartial. There weren't any gotcha questions. They seemed really interested in learning about how you think and work with others.
