The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Alibaba Group in Feb 2018
Interview
I was expecting to be interviewed by HR in California. The position is in NY. California HR lady cancelled by email, 5 minutes after the interview was supposed to start. Unappologetic, few hours of prepwork down the drains. Scheduled again, and it got moved. Then the headhunters, at my request, attempted to expedite the process and pitched me directly to a 2nd step in the process HR manager somewhere in China. I had to download Alibaba's messaging app (some TaoBao analogy to Skype and Hangouts, called Flingding). Roughly 6 hours before the interview I received a call from the headhunter appologizing saying that the guy in China didn't want to interview me because he didn't like my background. He was in his right to decline to interview me, but the whole experience was really unprofessional from coordination and interaction perspective. If that is how they are trying to recruit... good luck.
Glassdoor reviews of negative interactions with HR and constant rescheduling are spot on. Complete disregard for candidate's commitment to the process.
