Phone interview was set up with HR recruiter. Recruiter was given a list of questions by the hiring manager because he was so busy. So it was essentially not an HR screen but a technical interview with someone non-technical. Not ideal and shows they were not interested in culture fit but rather hard tech skills.

Question 1
Do you have experience with refrigeration cycles and designing refrigeration components?
Phone screen with the HR representative. Information provided was detailed and gave a good introduction to the role. There were some focused questions regarding background, ie "the manager really wants someone who has proven experience designing xyz." There were technical questions that the representative took notes on to take back to the manager. I liked that the feedback was quick and within a few days I was told I wouldn't be moving forward. This is great for applicants to get a fast response considering some companies never follow up if you are not selected.
