I was contacted by email two months after applying with a request for my availability for a phone screen. I responded, and two days later was sent a meeting invitation (20 hours before the scheduled call, and the call was set for 30 minutes before the time I said I would be available). I got all ready for the call with a list of questions for the company and research done about the company. I finally got a phone call 20 minutes late into the scheduled time with a member of the AF People Operations Team, who apologized for having to attend to some urgent issue which caused her to be late. I was only asked if I was still interested in the role and what my availability was the next week for an interview with the hiring manager. I was asked no screening questions. She told me specific date details about the interview schedule for the position, which was to consist of the meeting with the hiring manager plus two other people, followed by one more interview if I passed. I tried to ask what to be prepared for in the interview, if there would be technical/coding questions, but the phone screener really didn't know and just told me to study the job description.
Two days later, I received an email from the same screening person I talked to addressing me by the wrong name, informing me that my upcoming interview with the hiring manager had been canceled, and they would let me know if anything changed. No explanation was given as to why.
Overall it was a very bizarre experience that definitely left a negative impression on me. From the positive reviews I had been optimistic about the company, but I can't say I'm really interested anymore.
