The recruiter first contacted me because he saw my application and resume and told me he thought I was a perfect fit for the position. My first interview about a week later was in person with the GM went very well. It was about an hour long, and was very positive. He told me he wanted to have me back for an extended series of interviews with several of the managers with whom I would interface if I were selected for the role. I returned the next week for 4 one hour sessions with those individuals and they all went very well. I did not hear anything from the recruiter for almost 2 weeks. When I called and emailed him he told me I was still the "front runner" and they had a few more candidates to interview, which was news to me. It has been several more weeks since last communication and it is clear they likely had a leading candidate in mind even when they brought me in. The recruiter told me he is "very busy". Guess what buddy, join the club. I feel I wasted a half a day of PTO, and Benchmark representatives did not have the common courtesy to give an update in a timely manner.
