    Research Project Assistant Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took a week. I interviewed at Binghamton University (Binghamton, NY) in September 2016.

    Interview

I received an email from the CS department about an opening. The interview was scheduled for the following week. They had only allotted 20 minutes for each interview, and scheduled them all in a row. There were technical questions that did not relate at all to the job description. There were 3 people interviewing me, when I thought there would be only one. Two of the people were very nice and polite, as to be expected in a formal interview. However, one of the interviewers was incredibly rude. He seemed dismissive of what I had to say and even checked his phone at one point. He refused to answer some of my questions. If there was something better he wanted to do with his time, maybe he shouldn't be interviewing candidates. If this is the level of professionalism that is to be expected in this department, it's no question why they have a problem hiring and keeping employees.
