    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Blount County Library (Maryville, TN).

    Interview

The hiring process was facilitated by an employee who recommended me. The pay was so low, most people could not have considered it unless, like me, they did not need to live on their pay. I filled out a generic county-wide application and met with the department head, staff, and director on an informal basis.

    Interview Questions

    • I had an interview with the department head and the Director. It was mostly a friendly chat. The position was part-time. I had a degree and was working on my master's in Information Sciences and needed experience. It was a win-win situation for both parties.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

There was no negotiation. I wanted an opportunity to gain experience and did not think I would be there long.
