      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Mar 13, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bolt (Berlin) in Mar 2022

      Interview

The process started with a screening interview with an HR lady, which was a nice talk about previous experience. Then I passed to the tech interview which was a general tech & live coding session with an engineer, The live coding question was a medium Leetcode problem, I could solve it and I was satisfied with the results, after the interview I did some research on the internet I found out that I did the optimal solution, So I was quite happy but I got surprised with a refusal and the main reason was that I keep running every line of code to make sure it does what we want, This kind of review gives me an idea about the level of control that they are looking for over their employees, they need people who think exactly as they want. Anyway, I don't imagine myself working in a company that fully controls my way of thinking and my way of solving and implementing solutions.
