The process had 4 stages: 1. Recruiter Screening (30 mins) – General discussion about my experience, skills, and interest in the role. 2. Take-home Assessment – assignment focused on querying and data insights 3. Hiring Manager Interview – Focused on technical skills (SQL, query optimization, joins, handling duplicates, aggregation). The questions were pretty standard, but there was minimal discussion about my work experience or background. The interviewer seemed somewhat disengaging in the technical round. 4. Final Interview – behavioral and culture fit questions.
Observations: The company does not follow Agile methodology, which may indicate a less structured workflow. Experience with dbt was discussed. I didn't have it. The feedback mentioned that they went with a candidate more closely aligned, likely due to my lack of dbt experience.
