      Interview

First round is good, where your technical and management abilities are checked. But 2 hr coding round for managers seemed bit too much, as the world is moving to AI for code contribution. Managers should be evaluated on System Design.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at BrowserStack (New Delhi) in Jan 2025

      Interview

Disappointing Experience with BrowserStack HR via CareerNet I’d like to share my unwelcoming and unprofessional experience during an exploratory call for an engineering manager role at BrowserStack, coordinated through CareerNet. After being approached by CareerNet, I was asked to submit answers to a set of behavioral questions and provide an updated resume tailored to the job description. Despite a busy work schedule, I invested significant time in preparing thoughtful responses and revising my resume accordingly. The call was scheduled with an HR representative from BrowserStack named Amrin. The slot was fixed for 3:45 PM to 4:00 PM on a working day. However, I waited for over 10 minutes after joining the call—only for Amrin to join at 3:56 PM. She casually mentioned she got caught up in a phone call and forgot about the scheduled interview. Despite this, I proceeded to answer her generic "Tell me about yourself" question and summarized my career journey over the next 2–3 minutes. At exactly 3:59 PM, she abruptly ended the call, saying she had all the information she needed and would get back to me. I never received any follow-up or feedback neither from BrowserStack nor CareerNet. Weeks later, when I followed up with CareerNet, they informed me that they hadn't received any feedback either. This kind of experience reflects a disappointing lack of professionalism. If the intention was to reject a candidate, it could have been done respectfully without wasting time, effort, and energy. Creating an illusion of interest, asking for detailed write-ups, and then ghosting the candidate is misleading and disrespectful. To HR professional: If you’re not genuinely interested in a candidate, don’t initiate the process. Respect their time as much as you expect yours to be respected.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BrowserStack (Mumbai) in Dec 2024

      Interview

Overall a mixed experience, initially the process seemed to be one of the best I have seen, but ultimately turned into a ghosting and time waste experience. Entire process is pretty exhaustive and they test all your skills. Rounds: 1: DoE, 2: People & Project Management, 3: Technical live coding assignment, 4. Follow up on technical + Project management, 5: DoE round. I was informed that all rounds are elimination round. Recruiter was also super responsive and helpful in the initial rounds, but after the final round I got ghosted like anything. I kept waiting for the verdict and had a major family relocation related decision to make, but didn't get any response. Upon following up, I got an ETA to hold till 1 week as panel was unavailable for debriefing, and now it has been more than that, so got ghosted again. I was waiting for a positive result given the last round also went good, but even in case of rejection, I would have appreciated a formal closure so that I would have been able to make my and my wife's relocation decision at the right time. Now I got stuck with current city. Overall interview process took 1 + Month, it was enjoyable till the ghosting experience.
