I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Caffè Nero (Glasgow, Scotland) in Jul 2019
Interview
I had a phone interview about 3 days after I applied and then was invited to the store about 3 days after that.
I turned up at the store and was offered a drink to help make me comfortable. We went upstairs to more seating areas to conduct the interview. The manager was very friendly and knowledgable and seemed genuinely interested in me. I had no previous supervisor experience so he was quite interested in how I would handle situations. The whole thing lasted about half an hour.
Basic questions about yourself and your work experience, questions on leading a team and your knowledge of the company. Covering work hours and different branches if needed. What do you know about Caffè Nero.
They said they would call me for a telephone interview and never bothered. Emailed to follow up but never heard anything back from them. I personally wouldn't bother with them anymore

Interview
Interview feels more casual, fast paced. Had a quick tour of the cafe once it ended. Staff seemed friendly too, so overall not a bad experience. Cafe was a little busy so a bit hard to hear and focus, but that makes it feel less daunting.
