Reached out to by a recruiter, followed by an initial screening call. This led to a first-stage interview with the founder of Fresh Fitness Food, which has since been acquired by Calo and rebranded as Calo UK.
Successful candidates then progress through several further interview stages, including meeting members of the team, meeting the and a final conversation with Calo’s global leadership.
During my interview, I found the energy of the former FFF founder (now heading Calo UK) difficult to read. The questions asked didn’t align with the advertised job title or spec, and the conversation felt more focused on testing or catching me out rather than understanding my experience or suitability for the role.
When I asked about the recent acquisition, his response felt defensive, which raised some concerns for me around transparency at leadership level. Based on this experience, I decided not to continue with the process, and was later informed by the recruiter that the remit of the role was changing as a result of recent interviews, which seemed to reflect the same misalignment experienced during my interview.
