Interview
Awkward. As a former employee, I’m no stranger to the clinical, round-robin style interviews CSC sticks to. What struck me though was that there was an extra person in on it. I’m not sure if he was there for me or for them. Since I worked there previously and have a case open against a current employee who they continue to employ and praise, I have to assume the former. In no world were they going to offer me the job. Despite the fact I gave the institution over 3 good years of my life, I had a recommendation for this job from a former coworker, and someone from the department itself reached out about how it might be a good fit… Sandburg doesn’t like people who rock the boat.

Question 1
The usual. Round-robin style scripted questions. Little room for personality to seep through.

Interview
Panel interview with a list of pre-written questions. Rapid-fire format with no interaction and barely time to catch your breath between questions. Interviewers seemed completely disinterested and by the end it felt like a sham interview, perhaps they had an internal candidate.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
General questions about student support and program management. One question was about what I would do if I was concerned about the mental health and safety of a student but they had shared zero information about the services the institution offers students for mental health and wellness. I'm not sure how someone who is not from the community or already affiliated with the institution could answer the question with anything beyond generalities.
